Minutes of Little Chesterford Parish Council Meeting held on Thursday 8th March 2012 in the Village Hall at 8 pm

Councillors Present : Ian Couchman, Robert Pumfrey, David Richardson, Martin Start, Annie Roberts and Dr.Alison Tills

Matters Arising : Jubilee Mugs have been ordered and arrived. 18 were broken. Awaiting for replacements. Plans for "Millfield" has got conditional approval.

Correspondence: Letter received concerning Queen's Jubilee Beacons. Mrs Roberts said that a Beacon will be lit at Barr's Farm, Cow Lane Great Chesterford on Monday 4th June.
Notification from Essex Highways of road closure between Jacksons Lane / Stumps Cross for resurfacing.

Planning : Plans for Bungalow at rear of "Felbrigg House" have been allowed on appeal.
Plans for demolition of buildings at Chesterford Park. Make sure demolition trucks do not use village. It was noted that some plans are out of date. No Objections.
Dr Tills to keep an eye on planning applications from Chesterford Park.
Coach House at Springwell : Building Regulations, Highways and drainage all OK.
Some councillors concerned about size of garage. Is there a laurel hedge being planted to hide this. It was agreed that all work done should be in keeping with surrounding houses i.e. type of slate on roof, timber framed extension. Landscaping required and frosted glass in overlooking windows.

North Panel Meeting : Dr Tills attended local development Framework meeting.
This has possible inclusions for planning by landowners and developers. Uttlesford has to have a development plan in place or government will take over.
A large number of houses are needed in the area. Dr Tills listed several proposed areas in Great Chesterford. But Little Chesterford doesn't need anymore housing.

Queens Jubilee:"Sparks Will Fly", A cultural festival in Essex for everyone to celebrate the London 2012 Games, will be holding an event in Saffron Walden on 19th May.
Each village to plant a tree with plaque to celebrate the jubilee. Mrs. Bradley wants details of Parish Council plans for Jubilee. It was agreed that we should buy a tree and flagpole, possibly using the jubilee fund. Dr. Tills to look into Jubilee fund

Snow & Salt Spreaders : The councillors asked that a vote of thanks be recorded to Chris Pumfrey for Snow clearing through the village street during recent bad weather.
It was agreed that the Parish Council should purchase a £700 salt spreader using money provided by the District Council fund.

Money Paid since last meeting: Village Hall Hire, election charges, Clerks Wages.
Cheque signed for jubilee mugs £774.36.

Broadband : Discussion about slow broadband. I.Couchman looking into this.
